This section guides you through the stages of a typical installation for the lintel roller shutter.Specifying the right components for the project. At design , tender or order stage the correct shutter configuration must be decided by the client, this is a process that a Shellcast representative can assist in choosing the right products and raise questions that may not have been thought about. Stage two: After an order has been placed with Shellcast a confirmation pack will be sent as a confirmation and to start our ISO procedures to ensure that the correct product is placed into manufacture. This pack contains many documents regarding Health and Safety, plus a order questionnaire regarding colour, loadings and current drawing references. Stage three: Once Shellcast has received the signed documentation for manufacture we will make contact with the site representative to arrange delivery of the cavity closer/ shutter guide. Stage four: A Shellcast engineer will deliver the cavity closer along with method statements and a demonstration kit, a small demonstration to the site will be performed on how to install the closers and lintel, these points are also documented in the method statement provided. Stage five: The Shellcast lintels will be delivered to site Stage six: Once all of the openings have been formed and lintels positioned the site representative should contact Shellcast to perform a site measure and inspection, at this point a clear schedule should be possible to agree for the installation date of the shutter components. The installation point in most cases would not be critical to Shellcast, the shutters can be installed from the point the building is water tight up to after all decoration has been completed. Typically the shutters are installed shortly after the windows have been fitted. Stage seven: Shellcast engineers install the shutter components and deliver the control equipment to site for issue to the electrical contractor. Stage eight: Once all the shutters have been wired in and Shellcast has been issued with a copy of an earth loop impedance test certificate from the contractor a Shellcast engineer with attend site for a final inspection and CE marking process. All final documentation will be issued. ![]() |
